Objetos de Aprendizaje y Discapacidad - Learning Objects and Disability

Estando en la Universidad de Dundee esta mañana tuve la oportunidad de continuar una conversación que tenia pendiente con el Profesor Nick Hine acerca de un tema en particular de interés para mi. El asunto de la discapacidad en relación con el uso de las TIC en educación y muy especialmente en el desarrollo de material educativo digital. Fue una larga y muy amena conversación que felizmente me arrojó una conclusión: los objetos de aprendizaje como recursos educativos abiertos posibilitan la generación de material educativo inclusivo. La idea, sencilla pero contundente, es que al ser adaptables, editables, los objetos de aprendizaje posibilitan a maestros expertos en algún tipo de discapacidad, el adaptar, modificar la presentación, el formato e inclusive la naturaleza misma del contenido a aprender por parte de estudiantes con limitaciones físicas y mentales. Este es todo un tema , my complejo y delicado, por tanto toca asuntos de política educativa estatal, y de lo mas intimo de naturaleza, consideración y respeto de lo humano. Mucho hay todavía por indagar sobre este asunto, sin embargo se siente algo prometedor en el ambiente.

This morning in the University of Dundee, I had the oportunity to continue a conversation with Professor Nick Hine about a particular subject that seems quite interesting to me: Disability and ICT in education, and more precisely the issues that have to do with digital educational content.
Was a long and nice talk that drops me a happy outcome as a conclusion: learning objects as open educational resources encourages production of inclusive educational material. It is a simple but strong idea behind this: being adaptable, editable, a learning object gives to an expert teacher in the disability issues, the oportunity to modify, adapt, change the format of information and also the information itself, just to to give the LO a greater lever of usability thinking of learners who have disability problems.
It is a quite complex problem and very sensitive too, and has to do with education state policies and with the most private and personal aspects of a human being.
There are some much to search for indeed but anyway it is still something promising in the air.

Razones por las que pienso que ADDIE no es un modelo de diseño instruccional. - Some of the reasons I think ADDIE is not an instructional design model

Ya me han dicho en algunas oportunidades que me gusta ir en contra de la corriente. Tal vez sea así, aunque esto, la verdad sea dicha ocasiona muchos dolores de cabeza y una que otra satisfacción muy personal.
El trabajo alrededor de la construcción de Ambientes Virtuales de Aprendizaje y de Objetos de Aprendizaje me ha mostrado la necesidad de sentar posición y ser crítico frente a algunos de los conceptos que allí se manejan casi de manera habitual o cotidiana. Uno de ellos es el diseño instruccional.
Muy en contra de lo que piensan muchas personas al respecto, creo que ADDIE no es un modelo de Diseño instruccional, es más bien un excelente modelo para el desarrollo de proyectos. Los argumentos para apoyar esta afirmación se encuentran en un artículo que acaba de ser publicado en la Revista Educación y Educadores de diciembre de 2008.

Some people have told me that I like to go against the river flow. Perhaps it is just like this, though, the truth is that to go against the river flow causes many headaches but also some other very personal satisfaction.
The work around the construction of virtual learning environments and learning objects has shown to me the need to adress a critical point of view about some concepts that are handled as normal or almost daily. One of this is the instructional design.
Quite contrary to what many people think in that regard, I believe that ADDIE is not an instructional design model; is rather an excellent model for project development. The arguments that support this assertion are just published in the Journal “Educación y Educadores”of December 2008. (sorry, is only in spanish....just for now)

Los que hacen las cosas bien - People that do things right

Bravo!! Esta mañana volví a revisar la página del CREA de la Universidad de Los Lagos en Chile y habían modificado (de ayer a hoy) la presentación de la definición de Objetos de aprendizaje donde se referencia al Ministerio de Educación Nacional de Colombia. Este es un buen ejemplo del manejo responsable de la información digital. Bravo!

Bravo! This morning I went back to review the page of CREA, University of Los Lagos in Chile and they had changed (from yesterday to today) the presentation of the definition of learning objects which are referred to the Ministry of National Education of Colombia. A good example of responsible management of digital information. Bravo!

"Desconectado" RVT (Conferencia) - "Unplugged" RVT (Conference)

La primera conferencia del "Desconectado" de la RVT se enfocó en la experiencia de la Universidad de los Lagos en Chile, a través del Centro de Recursos de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje (CREA). Interesante experiencia. Veo con mucha satisfacción que en Chile estan trabajando el tema de los Objetos de Aprendizaje sobre la Definición que construímos en Colombia. Lamentablemente no hacen una referenciación adecuada de la definición, lo cual me parece delicado en un Centro como este.

The first conference at "Unplugged" from the RVT focused on the experience of the University of Lagos in Chile, through the Center for Teaching and Learning Resources (CREA). Interesting experience. I see with great satisfaction that Chile is working on the issue of Learning Objects on the Conceptual definition developed in Colombia . Unfortunately they do not make a proper referencing of the definition, which seems to me delicate for a Center like this.

Objetos de aprendizaje con uTIPu

Estoy haciendo algunas pruebas para la generación de objetos de aprendizaje con algunas herramientas Web 2.0. He encontrado a uTIPu. Muy interesante.

Este es un ejemplo (muy elemental) de lo que se puede hacer con esta herramienta.
